A Message to Housing Residents:
The current guidance from the Governor regarding health and safety during the Covid-19 pandemic requires us to have
residents move home as quickly as possible. Only students who rely on Housing and Residence Life as their primary
residence (i.e. international students, Guardian Scholars) will receive an exception to remain. All other students must move
out by Monday, March 23, 2020, using an Express Checkout envelope located at the Housing Office.
To facilitate your move, you may elect to leave belongings behind and take what you need for the duration of the semester.
We will loc k premises and schedule a move out date with you before May 16, 2020. However, it is best if you are able to
completely move out at this time.  Additional instruc tions will be sent to your Cal S tate LA email.
Bec ause your c ontrac t will be c anc eled, you will rec eive a prorated reimbursement of rent and meal plan (if applic able).
This means that the sooner you move out, the greater the refund. Students who return keys and move out by Monday, March
23, 2020 will receive refunds effective March 20, 2020.

For example, if you were in a double space in Phase I or II, the refund effective today,
March 20th , would be $2126.28.
 
If you need to remain on campus, please complete this survey.  We will review requests to stay and c onfirm via an email
response. If approved to stay, guests will not be allowed to minimiz e exposure that c an affec t the health and safety of our
c ommunity. It is also likely that you will move to another apartment to c onsolidate the c ommunity for safety purposes.
Housing and Residenc e Life will c ontinue its operation in order to support residents who need to stay. Hours of operation will
be modified, but staff will be available to address emergenc y and safety c onc erns.
At this time, the dining common will continue to provide meals through the end of the semester, including spring break,
with to-go service only, beginning Saturday, March 21, 2020.
Current Dining Hours:
Breakfast:               9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Lunc h:                             11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Dinner:                            5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Brunc h (S at &  S un):  9:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.
Dinner (S unday):     5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
 
Please remember that campus services such as the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Food
Pantry and other resources will continue operations, though most departments will be c onduc ting business through virtual
methods and by telephone.
Room Selection will continue for the next ac ademic  year. We will c ontinue to c ommunic ate information through your Cal
S tate LA email ac c ount and extend deadlines to ac c ommodate the c urrent c hallenges.
Please c ontinue to use the Cal S tate LA Health Watc h website for the latest updates, espec ially as it relates to our c ampus.
