Their website advertised curb side pick up. I gave them my vehicle description and plate number. I parked in front of the store and waited. I noticed someone in a uniform in the north side of the property talking in very close proximity to three other people. When I had waited more than ten minutes and no one came out to serve me I called back and no one answered. Just then a lady drove up, got out of her car, and went inside the building. At that time the employee and his friends went into the building, still in close proximity to each other in the north side of the building. I entered the building and saw that there was only one employee behind the counter. I stood for several minutes while the guy behind the counter waited on others and the guy with friends ignored everyone but his friends. The guy with friends then went behind the the counter and started handling hamburger buns, throwing some away. He had not washed his hands or put on a clean apron. He informed me my fries had not been made yet which was ok because I was going to make a scene if they had. I said forget it and left. I called the complaint line and the guy didn't seem overly concerned about it. This is happening at all hours of the day and night. The guests are a high risk to either have or spread covid 19 as they are mostly homeless and or are seeking narcotics from the tenants at the apartments. Recently we had an incident where one of these guests became delusional at 1:00AM and went up and down the hallway breaking windows and attempting to kick in the doors of several of the apartments. Many of the residents of this apartment complex are elderly and or have compromised immune system. These influx of guests that are of a high risk are touching metal door handles, pressing elevator buttons, using a common laundry area etc. The elderly residents are terrified The individual who is in apartment is not even allowed to be in the apartment. He is merely squatting there (less than 28 days) while the tenant is away. The landlord refuses to take any action to have him removed even though he is one of the individuals selling narcotics and having a constant stream of people come in and out. The landlord has also been notified of the Tennant in apt having guests constantly coming and going who are either homeless, seeking narcotics or both. All of thee activities are in violation of the Governors order and the Landlord ( ) refuses to take any action even though they have been notified by numerous residents. The individual in apartment is who has also been notified of her actions however they refuse to intervene. Both organizations sight it being an unacceptable risk to their employees to deal with the situation at present. Why is it an acceptable risk for residents, many who are elderly and immune compromised to be put in fear or their safety and health. Nobody listed above is willing to due anything to make sure that their clients and or tenants comply with the Governors Order, the terms of the lease etc. As such they have allowed a very unsafe environment to be created an a location that houses some of our most vulnerable population. I spoke with who told me three times that he was a and explained he did , and he was not in Vermont to work in the hospitals. I reminded him that Doctors and Nurses were coming to Vermont to care for the sick and dying and him telling me this information was not an excuse for him violating the Governor's order. told me he wanted a timeline for the eviction and I advised the Dover Police were not evicting him, as such no time line would be given. I also educated him about quarantining himself and his wife. A short time later a male, believed to be called the State Police to report the Dover Police were evicting him. The male was put through to me and he eventually identified himself as and said he was calling about his daughter who lived in Dover with her . The male told me that the State Police were at house evicting her. I explained that he was calling an emergency line and that we do not do evictions and that the emergency line was for emergencies and reporting crime. Both parties were advised that I would be sending their contact information to the State and were educated as to possible penalties and punishments. If my report is not accessed by the reader it is important to note that told me he rented his condo in Boca Raton, FL until August and that he had just come from a two week stay (Air B&B rental) in Buffalo, NY prior to coming to West Dover, VT. It is also important to note that only began telling people he was a after speaking with me on 4/8/2020. Previously he advised he was coming to the area for Passover and to spend time with his family in Albany, NY. Personally, I find it offensive that identified himself as a when speaking with me in an attempt to justify his rental of the condo, especially since health care workers are putting themselves in danger to care for others and are having difficulty finding places to stay. Second homeowners have been coming in from hot spots. We have asked the Association to compromise with us and order a couple dumpsters to put on sight. This would eliminate the need for us to pick up garbage. They refused to compromise.Up until last week there were still four guys riding in the same truck. The only compromise that they were willing to make was switching the schedule around so that everyone works twenty hours. However even that is underhanded because they will only make up ninety percent of the difference. We still have to pay for insurance and taxes but now we have to do so on thirty eight hours rather then forty... We are a hardworking group up here and normally very dedicated to .This situation is far from normal for us and we are feeling like we are backed into a corner. They have already fired two long time employees over this and the rest of us fear that if we don’t do what they ask we will be next. There is a wastewater guy up here who would gladly come up once a day to do his duty for the state. There are also a couple people who would be willing to carry a pager in case of emergency. There is no reason for ten people to be here daily at a time like this. This included those handling produce, stocking shelves, cashiers, those shopping for the to go orders, as well as those in the meat and seafood departments. I observed two employees standing right next to each other w/o masks and another one in the isles checking prices who was totally oblivious to me in the isle and kept coming closer and closer to me as I was trying to shop and I had to keep moving away from him. When I voiced my concern to the assistant manager, I was told that they were following guidance by the company and the CDC who said that it was their choice to wear a mask or not. That is not my understanding of current guidelines on the state heallth department website or the lasted poster that specifies anyone in the public doing essential errands and specifically those essnetial workers such as grocery stores should wear masks. I checked the head qurarteIs website and indeed this is their policy. It is interesting to note that their phone line is jammed up and they have discontinued the ability to contact them via email. However, one of these unmasked employees did come over to me when I was checking myself out to let me know that from now on I couldn't bring in my own bags due to safety concerns. Ironic! I didn't see this posted when I came in. Perhaps I missed it. However, I did see the sign on the door that said there were only 145 people allowed in the store at one time. No one was there monitoring this though. How am I supposed to know how many people are in the store? Happily, I went over to all of whose employees were wearing masks and gloves. AND they had toilet paper! I know where I will be shopping! No apparent cleaning of carts etc. Besides my frustration as someone who has been honoring the social distancing orders since our workplace closed on March 13, I really think that if corporate is not mandating proper protocol or limiting what customers can buy to limit the amount of employees needed in the store at any given time, then employees will not be able to take careful measures. There must have been 100 cars in the lot, no limiting of people entering etc. I mean, I felt glad to be able to pick up some gardening and home repair items but I'll avoid going there again and hope some pressure is put on the corporate office to protect employees and the public. We were deemed non-essential, but they decided they wanted us to stay for "Revenue". On April 7th I called my Manager that is working from home in NY and told him that I didn't feel comfortable coming to work. He told me that this is about Revenue and that we were all going to get sick anyway. I then spoke to HR and they made it clear that I wasn't going to get paid and that they were going to find a replacement for me. We have not even had any type of safety trainings, no training on how to . We were never given any gloves or disinfectant spray. I kept asking and finally I had to go to Security and ask them if I could get some. I have not received any correspondence from about Covid - 19. They have only made it clear that this is about revenue and I should be happy I have a job and getting paid for doing nothing. I explained that is my most concern. However, now that the stay at home order is extended, the dealerships are still planning to open back up on the 16th DESPITE the "Stay at home" extension. Until May 1st, the plan is to have the inside showroom "closed" to the public with only "Curbside Service" being available. Meaning that customers will still be able to interact with employees, test drive vehicles AND come to the dealership's curbside in the parking lot to conduct business. This greatly undermines the effort of the "stay at home" order and ENCOURAGES customers to come into the dealership for non essential services. Employee instruction once back at the dealership is to wear masks and continue washing their hands. After May 1st there is no clear cut plan on operation, so I can only imagine what more customers and employees will be exposing themselves to come that time. It is also not only these dealerships following this model, but many around the state as well (such as ). I DO NOT think that buying a new car is a valid enough reason to be congregating in public and not practicing adequate social distancing practices. Please reach out to all these dealerships and let them know that they need to continue to shut down and do their part to help stop the spread of this pandemic. Regardless of how much they would like to start bringing in profits again, that does NOT come before public safety. Since I , I would appreciate anonymity regarding my complaint. I do not want . I am under the impression that unless they are being used to house emergency personnel (which doesn’t seem to be the case) all AirBnB properties are to be shut down. What happened: Food donations for vulnerable populations left of the floor. Staff cannor refrigerate or properly store perishable items. All rooms do not have refrigerators. Staff improperly handling food items to be microwaved as clients individually wait for a single staff person to obtain and heat food. For example, not changing gloves between handling phones, keyboards, touching face/pants/belt and door then taking personal dishes. Cordless phones to be taken during responding to room in same hands as plunger and biohazard bags. No rooms have microwaves. Food donations provided nearly everyday served on floor of lobby. Left from early afternoon sometimes overnight. Toilet paper provision has been irregular for weeks. Now staff is requiring people bring used/empty roll to switch out. This is disgusting and I was redirected by the Health Dept. to complain here. That is also disgusting because exposure from cross-contamination should be addressed by the health department. *That means hundreds of sick, elderly and disabled people being temporarily housed here are REQUIRED to bring used bathroom items to lobby. Touch sufraces of room, several door handles, elevator buttons, lobby doors and hands of staff are unnecessarily exposing clean covered toilet replacement rolls? Manager informed staff, then telling me today, that people are "selling the rolls". That makes no sense. They are subsidized at exhorbitant rates by Vermont state government. dismisses complaints, blames rotting food smells on scientifically ignorant and nonsensical sources instead of taking responsibility and ignores requests/complaints via e-mail. offered refund and gave no means of follow-up upon explanation of temporary subsidized placement by public assistance. Good Samaritan Laws absolve the service provider/charity bringing the food but does not protect recipients, nor does it hold this housing facility responsible for food recipients consuming products. They drag the mop bucket and housekeeping cart around the items on the floor, mopping with food on the floor. After 3 calls to the Health Dept. about food being left to rot on the floor, nothing has changed. As of today, the toilet paper replacement has taken effect. The GM is typically unavailable, has an irregular schedule and does not give realistic answers. She told me the only food serves is breakfast, after I complained about food being put on the floor. It's disturbing to be ignored, dismissed and insulted by well-paid professionals with secure employment. Collecting food from the floor is inhumane, filthy and unhealthy. Walking around with used toilet paper rolls during a pandemic, where safe-handling instructions have been clearly outlined is dangerous. It is additionally insulting knowing that they are guaranteed weekly subsidized rates at high costs for people to live without basic cooking appliances and bathroom items. They are still selling flooring, paint and other non-essential items. Now, for the record, I am not an employee but feel terrible for the employees who are trying to do the appropriate things; however, their management is not supporting this. From a conversation with one of the employees, has complied with the Governor's orders so customers that cannot get the items at come to I would think this would impact the amount of customers in the store and the higher threat of employees coming into contact with infected persons. It appears that management is just looking for the monetary gain and is not concerned with the well-being or health of their staff. I am hoping that this issue is dealt with and is required to comply with the Governor's orders. Final question: Why hasn't your office checked on the compliance with the large stores?
