Media query: Prospects for “case screening” and “impact orientated”
modification to IPID targets in new Strategic Plan.
Pursuant IPID’s appearance before Portfolio Committee of Police in
February 2020 wherein an APCOF report was circulated amongst the
Honourable committee members for discussions.

During the above mentioned appearance, IPID reported that it will use
the process of reviewing its Strategic Plan and Annual Performance
plan to engage with relevant stakeholders such as APCOF in order to
ensure that its indicators are impact oriented and to develop internal
policy which will provide guide prioritization of cases. Unfortunately,
due to the unforeseen eruption of the Covid-19 pandemic in the entire
country, this process was affected. The Strategic plan and Annual
Performance plan has since been finalised in order to comply with
legislated timeframes.
However, IPID will still engage with all stakeholders when finalising
internal policy for prioritization of cases as well as amending the
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
