Box 1340, Columbus, Georgia 31902-1340 Isaiah hugley MEDIA RELEASE May 15, 2020 RECYCLING COLLECTIONS RE-INSTATED NON-GREEN BULK RE-INSTATED EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2020 Effective Monday, June 1, 2020, the City of Columbus will reinstate RECYCLING and NON-GREEN BULK collection services. All Solid Waste & Recycling Collections schedules will resume as normal: • Recycling Collections will be collected on regularly scheduled day • Recycling Drop-off sites will be available Friday, May 15 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle “The three R's – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. • Non-Green Bulk Waste will be collected on regularly scheduled day Give your household item a second chance at life! We ask each citizen to take waste reduction measures, if possible. Many household items can be given a second life through donation to a non-profit, church, neighborhood group, school, thrift store, etc. Appliances can be recycled for metal. • Yard Waste collections and Green Bulk waste will be collected on regularly scheduled day Backyard Composting Spring and summer are a great time to compost your food waste and yard waste.
