ATLANTIC YARDS aka Pacific Park Brooklyn Construction Update
Weeks of May 18 and May 25, 2020
During this reporting period:
LIRR Yard Activities – West Block 1120 & East Block 1121
●

Site demobilization, including material and equipment removal will continue.

LIRR Yard Activities – Night/Weekend Work
●

Day shift, weekend and night work will continue. Work will include electrical punch-list closeout, train toilet servicing
maintenance and repairs, site demobilization, and track restoration work.

●

Underground utilities work will continue on Sixth Avenue. The concrete superstructure program is in progress.

●

Within the building, mechanical trades are installing materials / systems in the cellar and will be continuing this
program up the building as work progresses. In addition, layout and construction of rooms in the cellar has begun
with masonry and carpentry trades working in tandem.

●

Protocols and facilities have been put in place to ensure an orderly, safe workplace in accordance with current
government requirements and permits, which include weekday start times at 7 AM and lasting until 7 PM and
Saturday permits starting at 8 AM until 5 PM

Underground utilities work will continue on Atlantic Avenue along with hoist erection. The concrete superstructure
program is in progress.

●

Within the building mechanical trades are installing materials / systems in the cellar and will be continuing this
program up the building as work progresses. In addition, layout and construction of rooms in the cellar has begun

Façade maintenance work will continue.

Pre-construction surveying and soil sampling activities are expected to occur, including but not limited to installation
of monitoring equipment, soil sampling and utility mark-outs.

Fence repair and new fence installation may occur at both sites.

Noise Receptor Control Program
You may be eligible to receive and have installed double paned or storm windows and an in-window air conditioning
unit for certain residential units where such air conditioning and/or double paned windows/storm windows do not exist
today. The cost of any windows and any air conditioning units, and the cost of their installation, would be borne by the
Developer.
The locations that may be eligible at this time are the residential sites in proximity to site construction and identified in
the 2006 Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) or the 2014 Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement
(FSEIS) as having the potential to experience significant adverse noise impacts during the construction of the Pacific Park
Brooklyn project.
