Statement to NBC News (May 20, 2020) Big Fish Games provides the following statement in response to questions raised by NBC News on May 18, 2020: Big Fish Games continues to vigorously defend against allegations asserted in a class action lawsuit in Washington State that Big Fish Casino and Jackpot Magic Slots constitute illegal gambling under Washington State law. These games are not gambling because, among other reasons, they offer no opportunity for players to win money or anything of value. Our games are offered for free purely for entertainment, with an opportunity for customers to spend money within the game to enhance their gameplay experience. The vast majority of Big Fish Casino and Jackpot Magic Slots customers play without ever paying any money. No court has yet considered all of the facts relating to how these games operate. Big Fish Games strives to do the right thing for our customers and to uphold industry best practices. This includes banning players from the game in certain circumstances and making it clear through multiple touchpoints that our casino-themed games are intended only for adults. We also ensure that the odds of winning in the game remain the same for all customers, regardless of how much they have spent on in-game purchases or any status levels they may have achieved in the games. We also take seriously any reports we receive of inappropriate messages or images that may be sent among players in the game. Upon learning of such message or images, we take steps to remove such content and, when appropriate, we ban from the games players who continue to distribute inappropriate messages or images. In light of the ongoing litigation, Big Fish Games cannot comment further at this time.
