Conservative Action Project (CAP) recently released a Memo for the Movement entitled The U.S. Should Not Fund the World Health Organization. CAP encourages leaders to reproduce, publish or quote from this memo. No attribution to CAP or any of the signers is necessary. CAP is interested in it being shared widely. ICYMI - Attorney General Barr responds to CAP's letter by releasing a widelyhailed memo in which he states that, "...the Constitution is not suspended in times of crisis," and directs U.S. attorneys to monitor and take action against states and local entities that violate the Constitution. If you have a complaint to file, click here. Senate Returns The Senate is back in session this week. The House is still out. Upon returning, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell gave these remarks on the floor. "As we carefully consider what may come in the weeks ahead, we'll need smart and targeted policies to help jump-start our economic engine, not unrelated ideological wish-list items that would gum it up even further. The country will need pro-growth, pro-certainty policies. The last thing we'll need is for the political left to view this national crisis as an exploitable opportunity to achieve other goals they've wanted for a long time." Walker On the judicial nominations front, yesterday the Senate Judiciary Committee heard the nomination of Judge Justin R. Walker to be a Judge on the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. If you are unfamiliar with Judge Walker, Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino wrote a piece entitled Who is Judge Justin Walker? RSC Unveils New Initiative to Lead America Through the COVID-19 Pandemic The Republican Study Committee (RSC) recently released a new initiative: A Conservative Framework for Recovery, Accountability, and Prosperity. The first actions of RSC's newly unveiled initiative consists of a series of five letters from Chairman Mike Johnson (R-LA-4) and RSC's five Task Force Chairs to House and Senate leadership and the Trump Administration. The initiative provides Congress with a solutions-oriented, 37-point blueprint for leading America through the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing economic recovery. Supreme Court Begins Hearing Oral Arguments Via Teleconference On May 4, the Supreme Court began to hear oral arguments by telephone conference. In what is a first for the high court, Americans are able to listen to the audio of arguments in real time.
