I have been advised that the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe (“Tribe”) has publicly expressed its intention to reopen its gaming facilities and related operations on or before June 1, 2020. Pursuant to Section 14(a) of the Final Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Procedures, I respectfully but formally require that the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe cooperate with the State in order to assure compliance with the health and safety standards generally imposed by Connecticut law and regulations. Given that time is of the essence, as an important initial step in that cooperation, no later than May 22, 2020, please provide: (1) a detailed and comprehensive writing setting forth the Tribe's plan to re-open (including--but not limited to--clear information regarding all facilities that the Tribe plans to re-open) and its plan to protect the health and safety of people working at and patronizing the tribal casinos and all related enterprises; (2) copies of any and all Tribal ordinances and regulations implementing that plan; and (3) any and all public health or similar information that the Tribe used to support its creation of the plan.
