The Hearing Of?cer found you guilty of violating the following standards under Administrative Regulation 208, Employees Standards of Conduct and Discipline: l. 2. Employees shall render ?Jll, ef?cient, and industrious service. (Section V, Paragraph A2) Employees shall exercise courtesy and tact. (Section V, Paragraph A4) Employees shall observe all laws, rules and regulations. (Section V, Paragraph A7) Each employee?s conduct shall, at all times, be consistent with the maintenance of proper security and welfare of the institution and of the inmates under his/her supervision. (Section V, Paragraph B) Employees shall not abuse inmates in any manner. (Section V, Paragraph CS) Employees shall not apply physical force to an inmate, except and only to the degree that is reasonably necessary in self~defense, to prevent an escape, to prevent an injury to a person or the destruction of property, to quell a disturbance, or to restrain an inmate who exercises physical resistance to a lawful command. (Section V, Paragraph Cl?) In determining the appropriate corrective action for the above violations, I have considered the following infraction: Abusive or excessive physical force in dealing with inmates. You instructed the Inmate several times to step aside and to continue moving The Inmate failed to comply and continued to speak to the Inmate whom you were escorting You then grabbed the Inmate by the back of her neck with your right' hand and proceeded to escort her to Shift Of?ce. A review of your overall work record reveals the following active corrective actions: 1. June 13, 201]: Suspension Sleeping/giving the appearance of sleeping. 2. September 10,2010: Written Reprimand Taking unauthorized item into facility. Having reviewed the record of hearing and your overall work record, I do hereby approve the Hearing Of?cer?s ?nding. Therefore, you are suspended without pay for a period of three (3) days to be effective June 8, 2012 through June 10, 2012 inclusive. The intent of this action is to emphasize the necessity for you to follow rules and regulations. Any similar infractions after this incident may result in ?arther corrective action.
