Decatur City Schools took extra measures to screen students, staff, and guests to lessen the likelihood of any possible exposure. Our nursing staff properly screened this student. Screening measures included, but were not limited to, a temperature check for all students, staff, and attendees. However, we were not informed that the student was in the testing protocol and that he had been exposed to We are currently taking additional steps to disinfect all areas that housed the graduates at both high schools. Based upon guidance from the Morgan County Health Department anyone that was possibly exposed to the student in question would be in the midst of the incubation period until June 3. They have also suggested that anyone concerned about being in contact with a infected individual at the graduation or any other location, immediately self-isolate, wear a mask, and contact their health care provider for additional directives.
