Dear Representative Hunter?s Staff,

On behalf of our 125,000+ grassroots activists in the Lonestar State, Americans for Prosperity 
Texas is requesting that your office sign this letter from the American Legislative Exchange Council
(ALEC) opposing the Federal bailouts for State and Local governments being debated in Congress:


Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, many states had chronic, structural, fiscal problems not related to

States that have spent lavishly, borrowed excessively, and ignored looming pension debt

should not use the current crisis to shift the cost of those bad policy decisions onto taxpayers in other
states like Texas.

Current proposals in Congress would provide hundreds of billions of dollars to State Local
governments across the nation to bail-out their years of reckless spending during the time of
coronavirus. By adding your office?s name to the ALEC coalition, we can send a strong message to
Washington that there is a groundswell of opposition to this raw deal for Texas taxpayers

If you?re not interested in signing the letter would you possibly consider issuing a press release or
statement of opposition to Texas bailing out states like California, New York, and Illinois? We are
even asking to film short videos for social media that AFP Texas can retweet etc.
