GENERAL PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS

strategies to ensure that the public
is safe as they reengage in the

• Verify roadway ownership, right-ofway area, and sidewalk space for
uses other than the existing.

legislation, as needed, to support
business recovery.

and public right-of-way for outdoor
dining to allow compliance with
physical distancing guidelines
while resuming operations.

• Review

existing traffic patterns
for vehicles, buses, bicycles,
and pedestrians; including ADA
accessibility considerations.

• Establish

protocols and standards
for delivery zones, emergency
access, and physical distancing.

• Establish clear zones on sidewalks
to ensure for public safety.

• Use physical barriers as a means of
separation to delineate areas.

• Use tables, chairs and umbrellas to

reinforce the outdoor dining notion.

• Provide a plan illustrating the use
of exterior spaces in relation to the
