Title: First Comes the Mosque THURSDAY MARCH 14,19 AT 2PM Author: George H. Hassanzadeh (“Nizam”) References: The Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (CMoS) and Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary 11th Edition (M-W). Dear Mr. Hassanzadeh, I was honored to have had the opportunity to read your thoroughly researched and passionately written manuscript, First Comes the Mosque. Your subject is timely, and you provide a wealth of historical information that offers your readers a valuable education in a complicated topic. I was especially drawn to your discussion of language, and how words have been used in different languages, by different people at various points in history, to have particular meanings and effects on the society that uses them. You are clearly an expert on your topic and have a unique point of view to share, making this a valuable book, especially at this time. It looks to me like your main concerns have to do with its complexity, length, and provocative message. All three of those are related to how you engage with and sustain the interest of your intended audience. I have offered comments and suggestions throughout the manuscript to address all three issues.
