Violation of or failure to comply with this Order is a misdemeanor punishable by ?ne, imprisonment, or both. (California Health and Safety Code 120295, et seq.; Cal. Penal Code 69, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTIONS 101040, 101085, AND 120175, THE HEALTH OFFICER OF THE COUNTY OF SANTA CRUZ ORDERS: 1. This Order extends and modi?es the March 31, 2020, April 29, 2020, May 6, 2020, and May 26, 2020 Orders of the Health Of?cer directing all individuals to shelter in place (?Prior Shelter Orders?). This Order is necessary to further slow transmission of Novel, Coronavirus Disease 2019 This Order shall become effective at 11:59 p.m. on June 12, 2020 and will continue to be in effect until 11:59 p.m. on July 6, 2020 (through the July 4th weekend), unless it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Health Of?cer. All individuals, businesses and government agencies in the County of Santa Cruz (?County?) are required to follow the provisions of this Order. This Order applies to all individuals present in the County, regardless of whether they reside in the County. Individuals who reside outside the County but are physically present within the County shall comply with this Order in all respects, regardless of the purpose of their presence. Individuals experiencing homelessness are strongly urged to obtain shelter, or continue sheltering in place, and governmental and other entities are strongly urged to make such shelter available as soon as possible, and to the maximum extent practicable (and to use Social Distancing Requirements in their operation). 2. This Order incorporates by reference all Orders of the State Public Health Of?cer (the ?State Shelter Orders?), which set baseline statewide restrictions on travel and non-residential business activities effective until further notice, as well as any related Orders from the Governor of the State of California directing California residents to follow the State Shelter Orders. With the exception of the restrictions set forth in paragraphs 4 and 5 below, via this Order the County is lifting all restrictions other than those still in place as a result of State Shelter Orders. 3. This Order modi?es the Prior Shelter Orders by removing the lodging restrictions previously in place. From this point forward, hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals, RV parks, campgrounds, and any other short-term lodging businesses may resume operations, including for purposes of tourism, consistent with State Shelter Orders and industry sector guidance. Such businesses are also relieved from the requirement of con?rming and documenting the reason for a lodger?s stay and maintaining that evidence for audit purposes. 4. This Order further modi?es Prior Shelter Orders by making the completion and posting of a ?Social Distancing Protocol? (attached to Prior Shelter Orders. as Appendix A) voluntary rather than mandatory. Completion and posting of a Social Distancing Protocol and distribution of the Protocol to employees is recommended, but no longer required. 5. Beach restrictions and Social Distancing Requirements (including the wearing of face coverings) that are currently in place via Prior Shelter Orders shall remain in effect through the duration of this Order. 6. Pursuant to Government Code sections 8667, 26602 and 41601 and Health and Safety Code section 101029, the Health Of?cer requests that the Sheriff and all chiefs of police in the County ensure compliance with and enforce this Order. The Violation of any provision of this Order constitutes an imminent threat and menace to public health, constitutes a public nuisance, and is punishable by ?ne, imprisonment, or both. 7. Copies of this Order shall be: (1) made available at the County of?ces at 701 Ocean St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060; (2) posted on the County Public Health Department website and (3) provided to any member of the public requesting a copy of this Order. 8. If any provision of this Order or its application to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid, the remainder of the Order, including the application of such part ,or provision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected and shall continue in full force and effect. To this end, the provisions of this Order are severable.
