Dear Governor Abbott:

This is in response to your April 27, 2020, appeal for a major disaster declaration for the State of
Texas as a result of severe storms, straight?line winds, and tornadoes during the period of

October 20-21, 2019. You speci?cally appealed the denial of your request for Public Assistance for
Dallas and Erath Counties and Hazard Mitigation statewide.

After a thorough review of all the information contained in your initial request and appeal, we reaffirm
our original ?ndings that the impact from this event is not of the severity and magnitude that warrants
a major disaster declaration. Therefore, I must inform you that your appeal for a major disaster
declaration is denied.
