It was a weird conversation but he noted that he would like a direct line with me/email to coordinate positive Amazon employees identi?ed and then a separate email to the warehouse managers I deal with. He wanted to understand our procedures for contact tracing, positive employees, and lots of other random questions such as is Kenohsa using CDC guidelines etc? After explaining all of that to him and also explaining that there are multiple jurisdictions involved with the employees because of where they live, he seemed to understand. I think he was ultimately happy with our ?procedures? and seemed to be ok except he noted the separation between his job and the managers onsite at the warehouse. I brought up testing 5 times and options such as the National Guard, Burlington, KCHC, and even kit drop offs. He thought about his answer twice and told me answer 1: I wouldn?t want to go against our contract with a testing company in the next month. Answer 2: I can assure you we are testing employees in the next couple of weeks. I explained that if there are positives, they are reported to the local jurisdiction and process is the same etc. He didn?t say a whole lot but understood. I haven?t had a chance to delve into the data because we?ve been so so busy. I am not aware of the ?outbreak, but if it hasn?t been reported to WEDSS, please ask those with jurisdiction to do so. I?ve attached the raw data set I pulled which lists all your outbreak cases. Sorting out contacts from employees takes some time, and can?t be done tonight. However, the most important information to convey is the number positive at a facility and the number of total employees at said facility. Explain what testing is already in progress vs what your need for WING might be. The attached line list includes both the onset date for each DI or Cl as well as the Episode Date which can approximate for onset if onset is missing. You can quickly make epidemic curves by plotting the number of cases by onset date within an individual outbreak. A quick visual review of onset/episode dates by outbreak will help you find points of ongoing transmission. I hope this helps in the interim. SEOC calling me at 9am tomorrow morning Hello Crew, My request for the National Guard to test all workers at these facilities has reached the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). They called me tonight and want a call tomorrow morning to go over details. I need a picture of these outbreaks: I need to include I need to know: 1. Numbers at each facility of workers testing positive Numbers of close contacts and probables of workers at each facility 3. Dates for each positive worker of when results became avail or when their first started (trying to get a picture if we have this contained or if positives will continue) 4. Total number of workers at each facility (plus total number of inmates at KCDC and Jail) Addresses of each facility 6. Name and contact at each facility a. We will need to reach out to each facility after the call tomorrow to let them know what is coming. I am hoping that those of you who have been the main point of contact for these can do that reach out (like I know Sandy was the main point for Visual Pak). b. We have also received open records requests for our businesses that I am going to have to respond to. Therefore it would behoove each agency to work with us in getting us a corporate statement that we could put into a press release. Liane will need to reach out to let them know our template press release and get this message. c. If I am needed to reach out initially to smooth this path with them, please let me know. We can talk after the call tomorrow. I want them to know that this is not to "catch? them or penalize them but that we want to help them and keep their workers safe. National Guard will do this as discretely as possible. From Sandy, was told that -has 600 workers with 9 positives and -was at 120 workers with 12 positive. Stacey?s report on Wednesday stated -has 8 positives and .as 4. Jeff's pull on Tuesday showed 12 confirmed at?at 14 confirmed. So as you can see, I have so many conflicting numbers and I need the correct information for the SEOC tomorrow morning. How can I get this? Sandy, did that help? DPH will usually have us create outbreaks for nursing homes for norovirus or influenza (and there are specific guidelines for those as to what makes it a ?confirmed" outbreak). Sometimes they are created for other things too (many ill associated with a restaurant, etc.) If in doubt, I would say go ahead and create an outbreak so people can be linked to it. If you have others from other counties involved, you can make it statewide. I would e-mail the DHS outbreaks (DHS CDES Outbreaks and let them know especially if you want to set it to statewide. If it is deemed not to be an outbreak, after all, then it can always be set to ?not a case?. Jeff also can help with creating outbreaks if needed. Yesterday our first case ofthe virus was confirmed by our management team as they walked around to every station individually and letting people know a confirmed case happened inside our facility. I completely understand that Amazon is an essential business and a lot of people around the world depend on us. I personally don't want to risk my life to pay all the bills I have I also don't want to get evicted or arrested for not paying child support. Amazon has raised the bar by giving us a $2 raise and double pay for overtime hours worked and that?s fine but again I don?t think it?s worth risking my life over.
