Incident Summary
On 8/24/18, I was dispatched to 1726 18th St, First Step in reference to a Marchman Act subject that had
escaped from the facility. While on scene, another caller reported seeing a suspicious person that matched
the subject's description behind 1844 17th St.
Several officers and I responded to the scene and located the subject in the rear parking lot of the building.
As two other officers attempted to handcuff the subject, he began to tense his arms causing the task of
taking him into custody difficult. I placed my right knee onto the back of the subject's neck until officers were
able to take the subject unto custody without further incident.
The subject was transported back to Sarasota Hospital without incident.
