In your letter of April 1, 2020, you asked for copies of the following public records: 1. All policy guidance relating to the efforts underway to ensure the health and safety of personnel and people in detention in the Farmville detention facility during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), including records on testing, prevention, access to medical care, and quarantines. 2. Records with information on the numbers of people who have been tested, showed symptoms, been quarantined, or treated for COVID-19. 3. Communications, including electronic communications and attached documents, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and/or the Immigration Centers of America (ICA) related to preparations, handling, and instructions on preparing for a potential outbreak and spread of COVID-19 in the Farmville detention facility. 4. Communications regarding the medical preparations for COVID-19, including the use of quarantine, in the Farmville immigration detention facility. There are no records responsive to your request. In accordance with VA Code Section 2.2-3704 (D) of the Virginia FIOA, the Town is not required to create a new record. All records relating to a hunger strike (including refusal to eat, denial of certain meals) i the Farmville detention center relating to fears over the spread of the novel coronavirus n (COVID-19). 2. Records with information on the numbers of people being held in dorm/building 7 because of COVID-19 concerns. There are no records responsive to your request. In accordance with VA Code Section 2.2-3704 (D) of the Virginia FIOA, the Town is not required to create a new record. There are no fees associated in the search of the town records in this incident.
