Inlow wrote a report stating the following: On Friday, March 2, 2018, I was dispatched to the area north of the Williams Building in reference to a theft of a cell phone. Uponarrival, I made contact with the complainant/Victim, current FSU student, Garrett Sweeterman. Sweeterman stated he was in his class approximately 5 minutes before it started at 1:25 PM on this date in 108 Williams Building. Sweeterman stated Rebekah Jones opened the door to the room, called Sweeterman's name, and made a gesture with her ?nger to come here. Sweeterman stated he immediately picked up his phone to call FSUPD. Sweeterman stated as he was calling FSUPD, Jones approached him rapidly. Sweeterman stated he got up to leave the classroom while still on the phone and Jones followed him and started grabbing at his arms aggressively. Sweeterman stated Jones became more aggressive, pushing him and slapping the phone from his hands, pushing him away again. Sweeterman stated Jones picked up his phone and left the Williams Building headed toward the Wescott Fountain. Jones had left the scene upon my arrival and Of?cer Buckley and Sergeant Collier checked the area with negative results. Sweeterman described his phone as a white Apple I?Phone serviced by Verizon. The value of the phone is 1 approximately $300 and the phone is serviced by Verizon. Sweeterman stated the the FSU Blackboard password is and the user nameis Sweeterman asked to speak to Sarah Castillo with the Victims Advocate of?ce. I advised Sweeterman I would have the Victim Advocate contacted when we arrived at FSUPD. Sweeterman completed a sworn written statement and it is attached to the report. Sweeterman than meet with Investigator Paluszek and Castillo at approximately 2:15 PM on this date. 2 1, your AFFIANT, was assigned this case to conduct a follow?up investigation. There are additional cases involving Jones, 1710-0298, 1710-0313, 1711-0108, 1802?0252, and today? 5 case, 1803-0017. I conducted a recorded interview with the victim, Garrett Sweeterman. Sweeterman explained he was trying to call 911 when Jones slapped the phone out of his hand, grabbed the phone, and ?ed the area. - When asked regarding the previous relationship between him and Jones, he explained it was brief such as a one-night stand. He explained last year he took a class at FSU that was taught by Jones. He explained they had a one?night stand in the classroom. Since then, Sweeterman - explained Jones claimed he got her pregnant and has had continuous issues with her. He explained Jones was ?red last semester due to communication regarding his roommate taking Jones? class. Sweeterman explained Jones advised his roommate should drop her class due to him going to get a bad grade. Sweeterman explained Jones was ?red from FSU due to this. I asked Sweeterman to show me a picture of her. Sweeterman provided me a picture of Jones. He advised this has been an ongoing'issue since the one-night stand last year. Sweeterman also noted of a recent incident regarding his vehicle being damaged due to Jones. He explained Jones was arrested for this, case 2017MM3464A1. Sweeterman provided me with a temporary injunction against Jones that is in effect until April 10, 2018. This injunction was signed by Honorable Judge Carroll. Jones currently has a trespass warning for the entire FSU Campus that was issued by Ofc. Adams on October 20, 2017. Case 1710-0298 was reported by Ofc. R. Bailey on October 20, 2017 and it states: On Friday, ?October 20, 2017, at approximately 12:36 I responded to room 315 in the Bellamy Building in reference to a white female, later identi?ed as current FSU student Rebekah Jones, sending text messages to a fellow student who she had sexual relations with in the past and a current FSU no contact order with, identi?ed as current FSU student Garrett Sweeterman. Upon my arrival, my investigation revealed the following: Jones became pregnant from Sweeterman while they were having an intimate relationship. Sweeterman received numerous text messages ?om Jones making statements like can't live like this. I want to die. Jones made reference to using a "coat hanger" to terminate her pregnancy in an attempt to keep Sweeterman from pressing charges on a previous arrest from October 16 of this year. Jones was not in her of?ce so I contacted her via telephone and she answered. I informed Jones of why I was contacting hef and she stated she was at home, 2540 Centerville Court. McSwain contacted Sgt. Booth with the Tallahassee Police Department and enacted mutual aid. I, along with Ofc Barrett, made contact with Jones at her house. I explained to Jones exactly why I was speaking with her and she needed to come with me under a Baker Act. Jones refused to go. Jones stated she never sent any text messages from her phone to Sweeterman. Jones also stated Sweeterman made statements about going to sleep and never waking up." Jones stated she had text messages ?'om Sweeterman saved on her computer so I told her we could go look for them. Jones was not able to provide me with anything credible in reference to Sweeterman saying anything out of the ordinary. All of the messages Jones showed me were from October 11, 2017. I informed Jones I was taking her to the Apalachee Center and she reluctantly accompanied me to my patrol vehicle. I informed Jones I had to handcuff her behind her back per FSUPD policy. Jones stated she had numerous surgeries on her collar bone area and was unable to bend her arms around. Jones showed me a great deal of scaring where the surgeries were preformed. Due to this issue, I handcuffed Jones in front and seat belted her in the cage of my marked patrol vehicle. I transported Jones to the Apalachee Center without incident. Screenshots of the text messages are attached to this case 7 A copy of the text messages Jones egmailed me from Sweeterman who is labeled "Karen" is also attached to this case ?le. My entire interaction with Jones was captured on my department issued COBAN body camera. Case 1710-0313 was reported by Ofc. P. Adams on October 20, 2017 and it states: On October 21, 2017, at approximately 5:30 PM, I was tasked with delivering an IDA letter to current Graduate Student, Rebekah Jones, by Corporal G. Mcswain. Of?cer R. Bailey advised me, he placed Jones in protective custody under the Baker Act and transported her to the Apalachee Center earlier during his shift (see report 1710-0298.) I contacted the Apalachee Center via telephone to see if Jones had been discharged. The Staff advised Jones was being transferred to the Tallahassee Behavioral Center. At approximately 7:04 PM, I arrived at the Tallahassee Behavioral Center. I was advised by staff that Jones was discharged at approximately 6:38 PM. I then tried to reach Jones at her home. At approximately 7:51 PM, I arrived at her home address of 2450 Centerville Court, but I was unable to contact her. I called Jones' cell phone several times attempting to make contact and she never answered. I left Jones a voicemail message with my name and asked her to contact FSUPD as soon as possible. At approximately 9:35 PM, Jones returned my phone call. I informed Jones I had a letter for her and needed to meet with her. I asked Jones if she could meet with me at FSUPD and she agreed. At approximately 9:56 PM, I met with Jones at FSUPD and my investigation revealed the following. Jones arrived with a male she advised was her husband. I provided Jones with the IDA letter and she signed the receipt for it. I then issued Jones a trespass warning for all of FSU campus. Jones asked me why was she being trespassed from FSU campus. I advised Jones the letter I provided her should help her understand things and it was required per the letter. Jones immediately opened the letter, read it, and became upset. Jones started asking when did all of this happen because she was in contact with her supervisor and they informed her that she would not receive any discipline from the events of her being taken into custody reference the Baker Act. I informed Jones I was not familiar with her case and I was tasked with delivering her the letter. At this time Sergeant M. Pohto arrived and spoke with Jones. Sergeant Pohto advised Jones to adhere to the instructions contained in the letter. Jones then informed Pohto and I she wanted to ?le a report of harassment against a Mr. Garrett Sweeterman, a current FSU student and a person named in ones' IDA letter. I asked Jones to explain the situation between her and Sweeterman. She advised the following. In May, 2017, she started an on and off relationship with Sweeterman. In August, 2017 Sweeterman showed up at her of?ce unannounced trying to kiss her. Jones advised she rejected his advances at ?rst but over the next several weeks they began a sexual relationship that lasted several weeks. Jones advised while this relationship was happening she was separated from her husband. At some point during her and Sweetermans relationship, she rekindled her relationship with her husband. Jones said after this happened she ended her relationship with Sweeterman. Jones advised a few weeks after ending the relationship with Sweeterman she found out she is pregnant. She said she was honest with Sweeterman and told him there is a chance the child is his. Jones said Sweeterman started calling constantly and coming by her of?ce trying to persuade her to end the pregnancy. ones said she told Sweeterman she did not want to end her pregnancy but he would not listen. Jones said she and Sweeterman spoke often and started spending a lot of time together again. Jones said they became sexually intimate again during this time. Jones then said the last few months Sweeterman became increasingly unstable. I asked her to explain and she continued by saying he was not eating, sleeping, feeling like himself, and he was failing his classes. Jones said Sweeterman told her that he wanted to go to sleep and never wake up again. Jones said after hearing this she told her husband about her relationship with Sweeterman and the baby. Jones said she and her husband also discussed raising the baby together regardless to who the father is. Jones said she told Sweeterman her plans with her husband. Jones said Sweeterman told her he knows this situation is going to come back to haunt him, if he is still alive by the time the baby is born. Jones said Sweeterman became ill and was admitted to the hospital. Jones said she was worried for Sweetermans safety so she reached out to his mother via Facebook. Jones said she noticed she had been blocked on Facebook by Sweeterman's mother. She'said she asked Sweeterman why was she blocked by his mother. Jones said Sweeterman informed her he intercepted the message and deleted it so his mother would not see it. Jones said Sweeterman told her, mothers don't need to worry about sons hurting themselves. Jones said she tried contacting Sweeterman's sister via telephone over the weekend but she never answered the phone. Jones said she met with Sweeterman earlier this week She said they were sitting in his vehicle discussing this situation. Jones advised they started to argue so she went to leave. Jones said as she tried to exit the vehicle Sweeterman stood in front of the door blocking her in. Jones said she pushed the door open with her foot and ran away screaming'and crying. Jones said she spent the next several hours in a police station crying. Jones said the next day she met with Victims Advocate and informed them of the prior day's events. Jones said Sweeterman then started showing up at her of?ce with letters saying "please don?t cut him off" and that he needed her. Jones advised Sweeterman is harassing. her trying to get her to lose her job because they have a no contact order. Jones completed sworn written statements attesting to these events. I After speaking to Jones I asked her if she wanted to speak to a Victim Advocate and she said yes. Victim Advocate H. Gehtile responded and spoke to Jones. While speaking with the Victim Advocate Jones looked over to her husband and told him he is not bound by the parameters her letter. Maybe he should show up at Sweetermans home and tell him something because she can?t. She then looked at the Victims Advocate and I and said she is sure he (Sweeterman) would love it if my husband showed up at his house. The Victim Advocate and I advised Jones if her husband went to Sweetermans by her telling him it would be in violation of her IDA letter. My interaction with Jones was captured on my Coban body camera. Case 1711?0108 was reported by Ofc. R. Bailey on November 08, 2017 and it states: On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at approximately 9:49 I responded to thelobby of Tanner Hall in reference to a possible injunction violation. Upon my arrival, I made contact with non FSU af?liated Rebekah Jones and she advised me of the following: On Monday, October 23, 2017, at an unknown time, Jones received a phone call from a private number and she did not answer it. On Friday, October 27, 2017, during the mid morning hours, Jones received 4 additional phone calls from a private number, the ?rst of which she answered. When Jones answered the phone, she stated Sweeterman was on the other end of the line and he said just want to talk." Jones stated she did not say anything to Sweeterman and immediately hung up the phone. I While I was speaking with Jones, she received numerous phone calls from a private number, 8 in total. Jones rejected all of the calls. Jones provided me with screen shots of her call log and they have been attached to this case ?le. I am unable to positively say the calls ?'om the private number are in fact Sweeterman due to there not being a phone number listed and since Jones did not answer any of the calls. A copy of the injunction was placed into the FSUPD Communications Section. A copy was also placed in the investigations box. I provided Jones with a business card with my name, ID number and case number. Case 1802-0252 was reported by Ofc. G. Wright on February 08, 2017 and it states: On 2/21/2018 at approximately 11:10am I was dispatched to the Degraff Hall Tunnel reference a possible injunction violation. Upon arrival I made contact with Garrett Sweeterman, a current FSU student. Sweeterman advised while walking towards the Degraff tunnel, he heard a female yell out his name. When he turned around to see who called his name he saw Rebekah Jones. Jones was standing in the area of the Academic Way bus stop and the Union. Sweeterman advised when he saw it was Jones he immediately walked away and called FSUPD. Sweeterman has an active injunction against Rebekah Jones. Sweeterman had in his possession a copy of the injunction and it has also been ?led with FSUPD. A check of FSU records show Jones has an active trespass warning for FSU campus as well. Sweeterman advised Jones was wearing a blue top and a pair of dark colored pants. FSUPD of?cers checked the area for Jones and were unable to locate her. I gave Sweeterman a ride to his vehicle which was parked on Georgia St. I advised Sweeterman to contact SUPD if he sees Jones on campus again. Based on the above information and the incident occurring on FSU campus on today?s date, Jones is being charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching Violation of Injunction against Domestic Violence 741 .31(4a), and Trespassing after Warning THE PRECEDING IS TRUE HE 7_ ENT KNOWLEDGE OR BELIEF.
