Sector-14, Dwarka New Delhi-110078 DATE 29th July 2020 In view of the current situation of the pandemic Covid-19, as well as multiple requests received from the candidates, the AILET 2020 scheduled on August 18, 2020 has been postponed. The new date of the entrance Test will be notified shortly. At least 10 days’ prior notice will be given for the new date of the conduct of AILET 2020. The NLU Delhi & NTA will come up with a fresh list of test centres across the country for the conduct of AILET 2020 as CENTRE BASED REMOTE PROCTORED TEST. The candidates will be provided with a choice of opting the test centre as per their convenience. The notification to this effect will be issued separately. Further, the last date for submission of online application forms has also been extended upto August 10, 2020. REGISTRAR ‘REMOTE PROCTORED ONLINE ASSESSMENT’ (RPA) National Testing Agency (NTA) The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) (www.nta.ac.in ), as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained Testing Agency to conduct entrance, etc., examinations in higher educational institutions, through online and offline exams. NTA during first eight months of its operations has conducted about 17 Exams/Tests such as, JEE (Main), UGC-NET, CMAT, GPAT, NEET (UG), SWAYAM, ARPIT, JNU, ICAR, NCHM, DU, IGNOU etc., wherein more than 69 Lakh candidates were enrolled for these Test/Exam. National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) The National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi), a university of repute, set up in Delhi, to impart legal education in the country, has approached the NTA for conduct of its entrance Test-2020 for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph. D. Candidates wishing to join the NLU, have registered/registering online. It has been decided jointly by the NTA & NLU to take a 90 minutes, AILET 2020 on the pattern of the previous years of registered candidates following, Remote Proctored Online Assessment (RPA). The candidates shall have to visit a National Test Centers (NTCs) of NTA, physically, following the norms of social distancing and the questions put before them will be of Multiple Choice (MCQ) and the candidate is required to click one choice. There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2020-21. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark. National Test Centers (NTCs) of NTA The NTA has established a large number of NTCs in almost all states & UTs and at a number of districts. Most of the Centers are located at, Universities, Institutions of Higher Educations and Schools etc. The NTCs where the test shall be conducted the candidates are not required to bring their laptops etc., the PC/laptop and the internet etc., shall be provided at the Centers. The NTA has decided, in the interest of candidates, to make available about 125 National Test Centers, for taking the Test, against the 22 Centers, out of which the candidates have offered their choice during the registration process. However, the candidate shall be asked by NTA to confirm through online, the new choice of Test Center offered and if not satisfied with the Centre choice shall be shifted back to the one selected by the candidate during registration process. The Remote Proctored Online Assessment (RPA) With respect of conventional Exams, the RPA has a number of advantages, such as (a) it saves assessing time in evaluating the answers submitted by the candidates, there is hardly possibility of any error in assessment and assessment is instantaneous (b) scaling number of candidates for whom a Test is conducted can easily be done, test for few hundreds to lakhs of candidates/shift is easily achievable (c) highly secured system, full proof in handling Question Papers, its delivery and conduct of Tests across the country, almost no chances of impersonation, (d) Total transparency, candidates after the Test are offered ‘Answer Key Challenge’ (AKC) in which they are shown Questions, the Answer keyed by the candidate and the correct answer by NTA. If a candidate is not happy with the correct NTA answer, she/he can challenge it against payment of a fee and it shall be got specially evaluated by a set of academicians and if found the candidate answer is correct, her/his score shall be improved and fee refund. The modified answer at the same time shall be implemented for all candidates. (e) Transparency is also maintained in preserving Audit Log of all candidates, record of Biometrics etc. In order to familiarise the candidates with the process of conduct of RPA, the NTA shall conduct a Mock Test for all candidates at the place of their stay and the candidates in their interest are requested to take the Test, as it will benefit them academically. On submission of the Test, candidates will get to know score achieved and correct answers. Instructions how to login the Mock Test shall be mailed to all. Candidates shall be issued an Admit Card by the NTA with all relevant details and the photograph submitted by the candidate at the time of registration. The candidates are required to download the admit card from the website, take a print out and bring it along to Test Centre. The Admit Card shall also have the Test Centre address & the time to visit the Test Centre and candidates are required to bring it along with a Photo ID, (as mentioned on the admit card) failing which, the entry to the test Centre shall not be allowed. Mobile phones or any electronic device are not allowed to the Test Centre. For the benefit of candidates in academics, the NTA has further made available previous tests of couple of years, so that a candidate can take online test practice from their place of stay and shall get individual score on submission of the Test. Candidates will further get to know the incorrect answer marked and the correct answer. As per the Guidelines of the Govt. of India, Scribe Facility shall be made available by NTA and extra time offered to those candidates who have offered as PwD category during registration. The NTA shall also provide a Help Desk to the students, through email nlu@nta.ac.in & phone, which shall be attended and answered suitably. The results of the Test shall be announced by the NTA and the Score Card can be downloaded individually by the candidates from the website.
