Carroll County COVID-19 Eviction Prevention Program Have you lost income because of COVID-19? If you are having trouble paying your rent, Carroll County Government may be able to help. Carroll County Government is launching a temporary rental support program administered through Human Services Programs of Carroll County (HSP) beginning September 1, 2020. The program is designed to assist people, who lost income because of COVID-19, pay their rent. The program will support eligible renters by making payments to landlords for past due rent. To be eligible, you must: • • • • • Be a Carroll County resident and provide proof of home address Provide proof of lost income because of COVID-19 Have been fully paid-up on your rent as of March 31, 2020 Provide a copy of your current lease or rental agreement and a letter from your landlord detailing the arrearage Meet the income guidelines listed below Household Size Maximum Annual Household Income* One Person $36,400 Two Person $41,600 Three Persons $46,800 Four Persons $52,000 Five Persons $56,200 Six Persons $60,350 Seven Persons $64,500 Eight Persons $68,650 Your landlord must agree to: • • Waive any late fees/penalties associated with rental arrears Not pursue eviction for nonpayment of rent during the months covered by the program Priority will be given to the following applicants: • • • Families with children People age 60 and older People with disabilities Funding is limited to six months of rental arrears. Full amount owed is not guaranteed. Applications will be accepted September 1, 2020 through November 20, 2020.
