For 50 years, Strong City has invested more than just resources to build and strengthen
Baltimore communities. Our Board, staff, philanthropic partners, and the mission-based
organizations we sponsor have given every ounce of our heart, soul, energy, and talent to these
efforts. It is nothing less than our collective life’s work.

The 156 organizations driven in part by our fiscal sponsorship today are changing lives, shifting
paradigms, and innovating to build a more sustainable and hope-filled future for the next
generation. Learning that even one of these partners has not received the accountability,
communication or in some cases, the resources that they rely on us to provide, is not
acceptable and something that we take very seriously and personally.

The immediate and deliberate action taken by our Board of Directors and Management to
understand and address any issues with our fiscal sponsorship program made it clear that we
have lacked the sophisticated technologies, staff capacity, tools and communication protocols
necessary to meet the rapid growth of our operations in recent years. This progress
undoubtedly should have occurred earlier and for that, we take full responsibility.

Moving forward, we are directing all of our energy to reinforcing and strengthening the internal
capacity and mechanisms that support the important work of this organization and those that
we sponsor. We will be explicit, transparent and inclusive with our internal and external partners
and stakeholders throughout this process to ensure that we not only meet - but set a new
standard for - the service our partners have relied on for decades.
