Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Stephen,   As I shared with you earlier this week, we pulled together around 50 of our top restaurant and lodging members (board members, govt. affairs committee members, etc.) to discuss our plans for re-opening. When the time is right. We have developed the attached plan. I sent this (hopefully final) version to the task force  this afternoon for final review and approval. We have been working closely with DHHS and are developing a COVID-19 training program for restaurant managers, back of the house, and front of the house employees. It’s not going to be mandated, but we will incent restaurants to take the training and embrace public health best practices. The program will include a PR, social media, advertising NC Promise/Welcome Back NC campaign to help welcome guests back into our businesses.   See the attached and click on the links to view the elements in the NC Promise plan and training program, etc. We are working with the state tourism office, convention and visitors bureaus across the state, and other hospitality related businesses, etc. to embrace the ‘Welcome Back NC’ messaging and to relay our commitment to the public that we are committed to guest and employee safety as we plan for our re-opening and welcome guests back.   We’ll likely send this to the Governor officially on Monday and will share with members of the legislature and the media. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Let me know if you have questions or need more information.   Have a great weekend.     From: Lynn Minges > Date: Friday, April 24, 2020 at 5:13 PM To: Lynn Minges < > Subject: NC Restaurant and Lodging COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Follow up   Good afternoon NC Restaurant and Lodging COVID-19 Task Force Members,   Thank you for your participation in our call yesterday as we shared information and discussed plans for re-opening NC restaurants and hotels. As you are aware, Governor Cooper announced yesterday an extension of the statewide shelter-in-place order until May 8. He also laid out a plan for phased in reopen with phases 1, 2 and 3. If the state enters phase 1 on May 8th, we could see phase 2 between th May 22 and May 29  and phase 3 in mid-June. These dates are not set in stone and are subject to a number of indicators that the Governor and his team is carefully watching.   Restaurants would be allowed to reopen dining rooms with restrictions under phase 2 and back to normal under phase 3. NCRLA is working closely to ensure that restrictions placed under phase 2 are workable for the industry and allow enough flexibility for operations.   Click here for the full text of the Executive Order. Click here for an explainer by the Raleigh News & Observer. Also, as promised, attached is a draft NC Restaurant Promise document. It is designed to convey our commitment to adhering to the standards outlined in order to insure the health and safety or our guests and our employees. I would like to send it on Monday so please share your feedback this weekend.   Finally, today NCRLA along with representatives from our membership participated in an industry workgroup convened by DHHS to continue discussions about public health related regulations and guidance as we plan for re-opening. NCRLA is committed to finding workable solutions for the hospitality industry and will continue to lead on this effort.     Lynn Minges President and CEO   222 North Person Street Suite 210 Raleigh, NC 27601 P 919-844-3007  C 919-218-9361  NCRLA.org [ncrla.org]
