Jackson FOR PROBABLE CAUSE I. The undersigned swears and af?rms, under the penalties for perjury, that he has good cause to believe that: On or about the day of August, 2020 in the County of Allen and in the State of Indiana said Defendant did knowingly commit the crime(s) of Murder. 2. The Defendant, Thomas . Jackson, is described as being: black (race), male (gender), 3. inc?Af?ant, Detective Key Sutpnin toe 1F is an dinner or the 1~ art Wayne t-?ollce Department. the Mttant h?eiieves and has good-cause to believe that the said Defendant committed the aforesaid offense(s). The Af?ant bases his belief on the fact that on or about 8/9/2020, at approximately 04:09 hours at redacted, Fort Wayne, Allen County Indiana. Fort Wayne Police responded to the above address on a report of a female body lying outside of motel room redacted. On arrival of?cers found the victim, Angel Carter, deceased from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. An autopsy was performed on 08/10/2020 and Con?rmed cause of death was a gunshot wound to the neck and manner of death Was homicide. 4. While on scene Witness I advised detective Lorna Russell that she heard an argument and a gunshot and someone said ?you fucked up?. A female witness that refused to give her name advised Detective Aaron Johnson that the gun used was from Witness 2 in room redacted. 5. Witness 3, the attendant from the hotel, advised of?cers that that room redacted was registered to the Defendant and that the Defendant had been living at the hotel for weeks. Witness 3 said that he was very familiar with the Defendant from the motel and that he knew him by sight. Witness 3 gave a description of the clothing that the Defendant was wearing when he was in the of?ce. 6. Detectives reviewed the surveillance video for the motel and saw the following: a male believed to be the Defendant is seen knocking on the door of room redacted with no answer. The Defendant can be identi?ed by physical appearance and the clothing he is wearing. The Defendant knocks on the door and backs away pointing what appears to be a gun at the closed door as if he is waiting for someone to answer. He then goes to the front office where he is seen getting a room key to room redacted. Witness 3 veri?ed that the Defendant was the person that got the key. The Defendant then uses the key to enter the room. A short time later the Defendant and dog followed by the victim exit the room. The victim falls to the ground where she was later found by police. The Defendant stands near the victim with a gun in his hand. No other person is seen leaving the room other than the Defendant and the victim. The Defendant is then seen walking to the west and then turns south into a crossover breezeway. A short time after this a male is seen on a camera on the north side of the complex and enters a room near believed to be redacted. Room redacted was registered to a Witness 2. Witness 2 is a known associate and friend of the Defendant. 7. A search warrant was obtained for rooms redacted and redacted and the following items were located. A box for a Taurus 9mm handgun, 2 live rounds, cell phones and blood trace evidence from room redacted. Room redacted had blood evidence, cell phone, 9mm shell casing and a projectile. 8. While room redacted was being searched Witness 2 advised the af?ant that the Defendant had gone into that room after the incident occurred.
