8/8/2020 Louisiana Workforce Commission 1001 N. 23rd Street Baton Rouge, LA 70802 Via email: laborprograms@la.gov Re: Disclosure of Potential Wage and Hour Issue To the Louisiana Workforce Commission: The purpose of this letter is to notify you of recently-discovered potential under-recording of hours worked by a few employees of GAT Airline Ground Support, Inc ( “GAT”) which, in turn, possibly resulted in an underpayment for time worked and/or in appropriate unemployment compensation claims. The following preliminary information has been gathered in the very early stages of an ongoing investigation being conducted by independent outside counsel. At this stage, we believe that a Company supervisor, with the knowledge and consent of the relevant employees, may have recorded fewer hours on company timesheets than were actually worked by those employees. This may have been for the purpose of allowing affected employees to qualify for unemployment benefits. If true, these actions were not authorized by GAT nor are they consistent with our values. Compliance with the law, including operating our business with integrity and with the highest ethical standards, is one of our guiding principles. Our employee handbook, which every employee must read and acknowledge in writing, requires “careful observance of the spirit and letter of all applicable laws and regulations, as well as a scrupulous regard for the highest standards of conduct and personal integrity.” GAT is an airline services contractor based in Peachtree City, Georgia, and is a U.S. company founded forty years ago to serve the airline industry. GAT has grown to accommodate the frequency of air travelers. We are deeply committed to conducting a thorough investigation and taking any necessary remedial actions. Upon learning of these events, we have acted swiftly to stop these activities, and will take all appropriate disciplinary action. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Mike Hough Chief Executive Officer GAT Airline Ground Support, Inc.
