Political parties are subject to audits of their revenues and expenses and have specific reporting requirements each year. The NDP believes that the reports of this fund bring up serious questions with regard to the Conservative Party's compliance with the elections act, in particular, whether this fund was being reported along with the other revenues and expenses of the Chief Agent of the party. As such, we question the very legitimacy of the creation and operation of the fund. 1. Does the chief agent have control and purview over the expenses incurred by the fund? 2. Does the fund accept additional funds other than those that are transferred from the chief agent? 3. How is this transfer of funds reported and has it been reported by the chief agent? 4. Are the expenses incurred by the fund subject to the audit and annual reporting of the chief agent? 5. Does the existence of said separate fund violate the Elections Act? We request that an investigation into this fund be undertaken and we would like to be kept informed as to the progress of such investigation. Thank you, -"lillathan Rotman National Director New Democratic Party of Canada -i *5
