Jun 4. 2013 at 6233 PM To: Greg Weston Hi Greg, The Prime Minister at times incurs expenses that are best paid by the party. For number six, no funds were used for that. From: Greg Weston Sent: June--04--13 6:18 PM To: Fred DeLorey Subject: Urgent PMO fund Fred: PMO tells me you would be best to answer this I am doing a story about the special discretionary CPC fund controlled by the pm's chief of staff. I have been told the kinds ofthings it was used for up to Nigel Wright's time partisan polling, expenses for the PM and/or officials to attend certain party functions, etc. I have also been told approximately how much was allocated annually to the fund up to Wright's taking over. My questions are as follows (with replies on background if you wish): 1. Why was/is this special fund necessary? 2. What was it used for during Wright's tenure? 3. Approximately how much money was allocated to it each year? 4. Are there any limitations on how these funds can be spent (or is entirely the COS's discretion?) 5. How are these funds accounted for? 6. is there any reason those funds could not have been used in the Duffy--Wright deal? Thanks/greg 1/2 6/5/13 .
