Dear Jaimee By Jaimee Johnson I thought long and hard about how I should write this letter, should I tell you everything that's going to happen to you throughout your life? Should I warn you who to stay away from, or what to avoid? Should I tell you which direction to go so you don't go towards any of the things I know are coming your way? I thought that might be a good idea at first, then I realized that I wouldn't be me, right now, without you going through any of the things you are about to. So instead of telling you what you should avoid, what I’m going to tell you is that it will be OK. Maybe not in certain moments, maybe not right this second, but I wanna tell you, you make it. You make it through all the horrible things that are going to come your way, but do you know what is beautiful about you? You don't just make it through these things, Jaimee, you learn from them, and you share your knowledge with the world. You not only learn from them, you take your lessons and create a whole movement out of them. Not only do you create a movement out of them but you go on to inspire others to feel safe in their own truths and inspire them to start journeys of healing. Jaimee, I wanna tell you that nothing anyone does to you is in your control. You will hurt, you will want to go to sleep and never wake up, you will try to sabotage your life, you will fall into dark places and you will feel the pain of missing out on parts of your children’s lives. Yes, you have children, through this all, through it all, you have three beautiful children, two gorgeous and amazing, resilient daughters, and a son who is the most amazing young man you will ever meet, also your saving grace. Jaimee, I need you to trust the process. Through the tears, pain and death of who you thought you may be, you prevail. I won’t tell you anything that will detour your life because the person that God made you into, is built for the journey you are going to embark on. In the moments, it will feel like it’s dark, it will feel like it will never get better, but I am standing here today to tell you THEY WILL GET BETTER. You have been given a task to break cycles, to build community and to lead in truth … and I know you can’t see it now, but I need you to trust when I say, GOD IS REAL and HE LOVES YOU and He has amazing abundance of blessings ahead. I want to encourage you to stay focused on God, focus on the opportunity in each obstacle throughout your days, and know that it’s all momentary, NONE OF IT IS permanent. Know that you will change lives, including your own. YOU WILL SURVIVE and you will make glory from all the things trying to break you now and in the coming years. And life will never be perfect, but just know you will perfect your life. Jaimee — I know no one has told you up to this point in your life, so I am here to be the first to tell you, you are beautiful, you are special, you are loved, you are valued, you are courageous, you are resilient and you are purposed. YOU ARE ENOUGH. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. You will find healing, you will find joy, you will find motherhood, you will find forgiveness and you will be forgiven, you will find love and marriage and you will find GOD — and He is with you even though you don't know Him yet. Jaimee — it’s not about to be easy, but I am here at 31 to tell you, YOU MAKE IT. I’II see you when you get here. I love you. Jaimee
