With this tool, you can join meetings through your computer, tablet, or smartphone, send chat messages, and share your screen with meeting participants. GETTING STARTED In order to use GoToMeeting, you’ll need the following:  Computer, tablet, or smartphone (computers are preferred)  Camera, microphone, and speakers (built-in to most devices)  Internet access  Meeting details (e.g. meeting number and access code) There are four ways to connect to GoToMeeting: through a desktop app (computers only), through a mobile app (smartphones only), online (through your web browser), or by phone. See below for instructions on each: Desktop: To use the desktop app, start by downloading it here. Follow the instructions to run the GoToMeeting Installer on your computer. You will know it’s installed when your screen says “Success!” When you’re ready to join a meeting, open GoToMeeting on your computer, enter the access code (meeting ID), and click “Join.” Mobile: To use your smartphone, download the GoToMeeting app (pictured here) from the App Store on your phone or visit https://www.gotomeeting.com/meeting/ipad-iphone-android-apps. To join a meeting, open the app on your smartphone and enter the access code (meeting ID). Online: To join online, click on the link sent in your meeting invitation or go to https://www.gotomeeting.com/meeting/join-meeting and enter the access code (meeting ID). If you’ve already downloaded the desktop app, it will open automatically. If not, you will be prompted to download it in order to join the meeting. Phone: If you are only able to connect through audio, call the phone number listed in the invitation and type the access code followed by the pound key. This is the least desirable way to connect, as you will be unable to see videos, chat messages, or screen shares. JOINING A MEETING Each meeting has a unique link, phone number, and access code in the invitation (sample invitation below): To join a meeting, follow the instructions above based on the device you choose to use. Before joining, type the name you’d like visible to other participants. Next you’ll see a preview screen with the option to activate your microphone and camera. If your settings are as you wish, click “Ok, I’m Ready” to continue to the meeting. For additional guidance, watch this video. 8/25/2020 Page 3 HELPFUL TIPS Mute & Unmute: On your device, you will see a microphone icon. When it is red, you are on mute. When it is green, you are unmuted and all other meeting participants can hear you. To mute or unmute yourself, simply click on the icon. Share Your Webcam: To the right of the microphone, you will see a camera icon. When it is white, your webcam is not turned on. When it is green, all others can view your webcam. To turn your webcam on or off, click on the camera icon. Send Chat Messages: The chat feature allows you to send messages to all meeting participants, to the organizer, or to one individual. To access the chat, click on the chat icon (pictured below) in the tool bar. Specify your recipient by clicking on the arrows next to “Send To:” and selecting the group or individuals you’d like to message. Share Your Screen: To share your screen with all meeting participants, request permission from the meeting organizer by sending him or her a chat message. Once you have permission, click on the screen icon to make it green. TROUBLESHOOTING AUDIO ISSUES DURING A MEETING If you experience audio issues during a meeting, try the troubleshooting steps below to improve the audio quality. Perform a System Check: GoToMeeting allows you to perform a system check on your computer to ensure it supports the meeting platform. To do so, navigate to https://support.goto.com/meeting/system-check. If your system does not adequately support GoToMeeting, or if your internet connection is not strong, you may find it helpful to dial-in by phone instead. Dial-in to the Meeting: If you are in a meeting and experiencing poor audio, you can dial-in by doing the following: 1. Select the settings icon (pictured here) from the tool bar near the top of the window. 2. Then, click “Phone.” You’ll see the dial-in number, access code, and audio pin. Call the toll-free number and follow the prompts to enter the access code and audio pin. Alternatively, click “I want GoToMeeting to call me” to receive a call directly from the system. You will then be able to speak and hear through your phone. 3. Once you dial-in by phone, click “Turn Off Computer Audio” to prevent audio feedback from your computer. Additional Support: If you continue having audio issues, click on the “More” arrow at the bottom of the settings tab, then select “Troubleshooting.” This will open the GoToMeeting Audio Assistant that walks you through a many solutions. Or, send a private chat to the meeting organizer (“Heritage Support”) who will troubleshoot with you. Please note: icons may differ slightly between devices. April 9, 9:30-10:30am Warning - This message has originated from an External Source! Please use proper judgment and caution when opening attachments, clicking links, or responding to this email. Dear Secretary: We hope this email finds you well and healthy during these times. Hans von Spakovsky, Manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, is inviting you to participate in an Election Administration Forum conference call with House Administration Ranking Member Rodney David and other important committee staff and stakeholders on Thursday, April 9 from 9:30-10:30am. The 116th Congress has seen numerous attempts at a federal takeover of elections. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 crisis is no different. Some members of Congress are using the coronavirus to push for billions of dollars in more funding as a way of forcing changes in state election laws and administration such as automatic voter registration, required counting of ballots outside assigned precincts, required early voting, and required vote-by-mail/absentee voting--allowing for ballot harvesting. These provisions represent a complete takeover of state run elections and will be pushed again in future COVID-19 related legislation. It is important that we hear from you on these issues and collaborate to combat harmful provisions that interfere in your ability to administer your elections with integrity. Members will discuss the legislative landscape over the next several weeks, potential legislation, execution of the CARES Act, expansion of vote-by-mail and the potential for abuse and voter fraud, and ways to message these concerns to your constituents. The call will feature important information from Ranking Member Rodney Davis; Election Stakeholders; and Committee Staff Jen Daulby (Staff Director), Cole Felder (Republican General Counsel), Jesse Roberts (Counsel), Keighle Joyce (Counsel), and Courtney Parella (Communications Director). We would value your input in these important discussions to better protect the sanctity of elections. If you are interested in joining this call on Thursday, April 9 from 9:30-10:30am, please respond to this email, so we can provide you with the conference dial-in information. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Kind Regards, Katie Kaitlynn Samalis Aldrich Administrative and Research Assistant The Heritage Foundation 214 Massachusetts Avenue, NE Washington, DC 20002 202‑608‑6181 heritage.org 8/25/2020 Page 16 From: Samalis, Kaitlynn To: John R. Ashcroft Date: Subject: 2/20/2020 11:57:12 AM Heritage's Voter Fraud Database - Inquiry for new cases from your state! Warning - This message has originated from an External Source! Please use proper judgment and caution when opening attachments, clicking links, or responding to this email. Dear Secretary Ashcroft: I am reaching out about Heritage’s Election Fraud Database. This database is a five year project by The Heritage Foundation to document proven instances of election fraud from across the country. We currently have 1,259 cases from 47 states. This is an ongoing priority project for Heritage, so we are always looking for new cases to add. Here is a link to your state’s cases we currently have on our site: Missouri Voter Fraud Cases. We would greatly appreciate if you would take the time to review and supplement our list with any additional cases you have documented. Please feel free to send me any new case information at my email at kaitlynn.samalis@heritage.org. Our goal is to better educate the public about election integrity and combat the narrative that voter fraud either does not happen or that it is so rare that it can have no effect on elections. The database tracks instances by type of case and type of fraud. For reference, I have copied below the list of our database’s assigned categorizations. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you in advance for your help with this project! Kind regards, Katie Types of Cases Criminal Conviction Any case that results in a defendant entering a plea of guilty or no contest, or being found guilty in court of election-related offenses. Judicial Finding A finding by a court of law that fraud occurred in an election, including judicial orders overturning election results or ordering a new election due to fraud. Civil Penalty Any civil case resulting in fines or other penalties imposed for a violation of election laws. Official Finding A finding by a government body that fraud occurred in an election, including orders overturning election results or ordering a new election due to fraud. 8/25/2020 Page 17 Diversion Program Any criminal case in which a judge directs a defendant into a pre-trial diversion program, or stays or defers adjudication with the understanding that the conviction will be cleared upon completion of the program. Types of Fraud Fraudulent Use Of Absentee Ballots Requesting absentee ballots and voting without the knowledge of the actual voter; or obtaining the absentee ballot from a voter and either filling it in directly and forging the voter’s signature or illegally telling the voter who to vote for. Ineligible Voting Illegal registration and voting by individuals who are not U.S. citizens, are convicted felons, or are otherwise not eligible to vote. Impersonation Fraud At The Polls Voting in the name of other legitimate voters and voters who have died, moved away, or lost their right to vote because they are felons, but remain registered. Buying Votes Paying voters to cast either an in-person or absentee ballot for a particular candidate. Ballot Petition Fraud Forging the signatures of registered voters on the ballot petitions that must be filed with election officials in some states for a candidate or issue to be listed on the official ballot Duplicate Voting Registering in multiple locations and voting in the same election in more than one jurisdiction or state. False Registrations Voting under fraudulent voter registrations that either use a phony name and a real or fake address or claim residence in a particular jurisdiction where the registered voter does not actually live and is not entitled to vote. Altering The Vote Count Changing the actual vote count either in a precinct or at the central location where votes are counted Illegal "Assistance" At The Polls Forcing or intimidating voters—particularly the elderly, disabled, illiterate, and those for whom English is a second language—to vote for particular candidates while supposedly providing them with “assistance.” Kaitlynn Samalis Aldrich Administrative and Research Assistant The Heritage Foundation 8/25/2020 214 Massachusetts Avenue, NE 8\se\soso bade J8
