April 9, 9:30-10230am Date: Tuesday, April 7, 2020 6:20:12 AM Attachments: r1 EDWIN MEESE Ill CENTER FOR LEGAL AND JUDICIAL STUDIES Dear Secretary: We hope this email ?nds you well and healthy during these times. Hans von Spakovsky, Manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, is inviting you to participate in an Election Administration Forum conference call with House Administration Ranking Member Rodney David and other important committee staff and stakeholders on Thursday, April 9 from 9:30-10:30am. The 116th Congress has seen numerous attempts at a federal takeover of elections. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 crisis is no different. Some members of Congress are using the coronavirus to push for billions of dollars in more funding as a way of forcing changes in state election laws and administration such as automatic voter registration, required counting of ballots outside assigned precincts, required early voting, and required vote-by-mail/absentee voting--allowing for ballot harvesting. These provisions represent a complete takeover of state run elections and will be pushed again in future related legislation. It is important that we hear from you on these issues and collaborate to combat harmful provisions that interfere in your ability to administer your elections with integrity. Members will discuss the legislative landscape over the next several weeks, potential legislation, execution of the CARES Act, expansion of vote-by-mail and the potential for abuse and voter fraud, and ways to message these concerns to your constituents. The call will feature important information from Ranking Member Rodney Davis; Election Stakeholders; and Committee Staff Jen Daulby (Staff Director), Cole Felder (Republican General Counsel), Jesse Roberts (Counsel), Keighle Joyce (Counsel), and Courtney Parella (Communications Director). We would value your input in these important discussions to better protect the sanctity of elections. If you are interested in joining this call on Thursday, April 9 from 9:30-10z30am, please respond to this email, so we can provide you with the conference dial-in information. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Kind Regards, Katie Samalis Aldrich Administrative and Research Assistant The Heritage Foundation 214 Massachusetts Avenue. Date: Thursday, February 20, 2020 10:08:21 AM Dear Secretary Cegavske: I am reaching out about Heritage?s W. This database is a five year project by The Heritage Foundation to document proven instances of election fraud from across the country. We currently have 1,259 cases from 47 states. This is an ongoing priority project for Heritage, so we are always looking for new cases to add. Here is a link to your state?s cases we currently have on our site: W. We would greatly appreciate if you would take the time to review and supplement our list with any additional cases you have documented. Please feel free to send me any new case information at my email at kaitlmuama?szeu?tagemg- Our goal is to better educate the public about election integrity and combat the narrative that voter fraud either does not happen or that it is so rare that it can have no effect on elections. The database tracks instances by type of case and type of fraud. For reference, I have copied below the list of our database?s assigned categorizations. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you in advance for your help with this project!
