Dear Commissioner Lockwood:

In the course of preparing a response to defense motions, the District Attomey?s Of?ce has
recently completed a comprehensive review of Internal Affairs ?les and federal grand jury minutes
relating to the conduct of Of?cer Joseph Hassett. Based upon our review and analysis, we have
concluded that due to irremediable problems of credibility, we will no longer call Of?cer Hassett as a
witness in any pending or future criminal action in accordance with our obligations under Brady 
Maryland, 373 US 83 (1963), Giglio United States, 405 US 150 [1972], People Geaslen, 54 
510 (1981), and of Witnesses].
