CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fhcp%2Finfection-control.html it basically rakes away the AIIR rec except if doing an aerosol-generating procedure. You can also use and N95 or a facemask of N95 not available so should be able to collect swabs most places now (do need gowns, eye protection, etc. New guidance does not go to droplet per se but is permissive about use of facemask instead of N95 in light of shortages. Long story about why the rec turned out this way that I will tell you when I see you. Hope that helps. I know you are drop dead busy as we are. I have a couple of questions for you if you will indulge me. We don’t want to send tons of folks to EDs to get tested however the guidance for testing in a physician office is quite stringent if taken verbatim. They say, “ideally”, for things such as, you can test in a provider office if ideally the air does not mix with other air without a Hepa filter and the room should be closed for a number of minutes based on air exchanges. This is next to impossible for provider practices to accomplish so how should we be advising them? Also, is CDC going to follow CDC guidelines and go from airborne to droplet precautions? Sorry to bother, any advice is appreciated.
