Six questions jurisdictions should be asking to plan state quarantine measures: 
 
Is your jurisdiction ready to issue order? 
Housing plan for quarantine? 
Wrap around services? 
Transportation services? 
EMS plan to transport people for medical eval? 
Ready to monitor people according to risk assessment? 
 
Entry screening data collection: 
CDC made some changes. Have deployed people to airports to manually collect and enter data. Now getting 
more reliable data being sent to states for follow‐up on China travelers for self‐monitoring with public health 
supervision.  
 
Public health monitoring algorithm developed to help PH departments determine risk levels and determine 
public health monitoring (FYI KDHE has adapted this algorithm and shared with local health departments).  
 
CARE booklets are coming soon. These are the daily check logs for travelers. Is in the final clearance stage at 
CDC. Looking at beginning of next week to get the booklets distributed to China travelers at airports.  
 
Diamond Princess cruise ship: At least 70 US citizens have become infected on the ship. CDC remains 
concerned about ongoing transmission on the ship, despite efforts by Japanese government to try to reduce 
transmission on the ship. Japan considers the quarantine period over so have started releasing passengers
