Box 110017 Juneau AK 99811-0017 Re: Galvin v. enumiai, et.al. Case No. 3AN-20-07991 CI Kohlhaas, Scott Dear Ms. enumiai, I am a proud member of the Libertarian Party of Alaska. I am a candidate for Alaska State Representative, District 16, listed on the general election ballot in November. I am designated as a ?petition nominee? with no reference to my party af?liation. I am writing to request that my party af?liation be printed on the ballot. I believe that I have a statutory right to this ballot designation. AS 15.25.180 says that independent petitions may contain the name of the ?political group, if any.? Mine did. AS 15.25.190 speci?cally says: ?The Director shall place the names and the political group af?liation of persons who have been properly nominated by petition on the general election ballot? (emphasis added) I do not know how ballot reprinting will be affected by the Galvin case. If ballots have to be reprinted, please designate me as a Libertarian. If the ballots do not have to be completely reprinted, please print a designation on the existing ballots identifying me as a Libertarian. In the interests of fairness, you should also do the same thing for other candidates designated as ?petition nominee.? Please let me know as soon as possible how you intend to handle this request. I am prepared to litigate to protect the rights of the Libertarian Party to properly designate its candidates, if necessary. Thank you. I am also sending a copy of this letter to the attorneys in the Galvin case and Judge Henderson so that they will be aware of this additional complicating factor relating to the reprinting or modi?cation of ballots, so that it can be taken into account in the ?nal Galvin case disposition. I also will be listening in to the hearing on September 18. Thank you all. cc Judge Jennifer S. Henderson, Via fax 265-0122 Kevin R. Feldis, Via fax 276-3108 Margaret Paton?Walsh, via fax 279-2834
