October 13, 2020 A female in-patient in her sixties passed away at Bartlett Regional Hospital early this morning due to COVID-19. She was a resident of Juneau. This is the first COVID-19 related death to occur at Bartlett since the start of the pandemic. “Our team is deeply saddened by this passing and send our heartfelt condolences to the family,” said Bartlett Incident Commander and Quality Director Gail Moorehead. There are currently six COVID-19 in-patients at Bartlett. Twenty-three COVID-19 patients have been discharged thus far this year. Cumulatively, Juneau has had 348 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 101 nonresidents. There are 45 active cases in Juneau and 401 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 157 new people with COVID-19 – 153 are residents and four are nonresidents.
