Subject line: Proctortrack temporarily unavailable Members of the University community, The University has been informed by Verificient Technologies that a security breach was detected on October 13 resulting in a brief disruption of its Proctortrack service. The provider has advised that no user data were exposed. Verificient further advised that it has resolved the breach, but as a precaution is shutting down its services for 7-10 days to conduct a thorough security review and external forensic audit. U of R instructors with mid-terms/exams scheduled over this time period have been advised to make alternate arrangements for any exams that were slated to be remotely proctored. They will communicate those arrangements directly to impacted students. Students who have not yet completed the onboarding process with Proctortrack will be unable to do so until service resumes, nor will they have a need to at this time. Students who have completed onboarding are not affected. We will provide further updates as additional information is received from Verificient. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work with the provider and assess the situation. Sincerely, david Gregory Interim Provost & VP (Academic) Art Exner AVP Information Services
