Metzen Director of Pupil Services RE: Seclusion and Restraint Report Each year, by September 1, the principal or designee must submit to the school board a report: of the number of incidents of seclusion and physical restraint in the previous year, the total number of students involved in the incidents, and the total number of students with disabilities involved in the incidents. I have attached details regarding the requirements, as posted on the DPI website. No school staff may use seclusion or restraint unless they have had training. Training is provided by MPSD faculty members during the school year and in the summer as needed. o Total number of incidents of seclusion and/or restraint: 239 o Total number of students involved in the incidents: 38 o Total number of students with disabilities involved in the incidents: 37 Although the Seclusion and Restraint Report will be an item on the board agenda, no formal board approval is needed.
