There was a void pattern in the blood next to her and her legs were crossed, which possibly indicated she had been rolled onto her face after being injured. She had puncture wounds visible on her right side and left arm. and her left forearm had a deep cut that- almost severed the limb from her body. Possible blood spatter commonly known as cast-off was droplets was seen leading from the bedroom, down the hall, and into the living room. No blood drops were seen leaving the residence. No associated weapon was immediately obvious. Young's purse was sitting open on the northeast side of the bed in the void pattern. It appeared the purse may have been located on the southwest side of the bed due to some change and lip gloss lying on top of this blood stain pattern. The purse straps appeared to have been broken or cut. inside the purse was suspected blood transfer located on the cigarettes and cards contained in the main compartment of the purse. The coroner's investigators declared the scene a homicide and personnel were removed and the apartment secured pending a search warrant being obtained. A gold Jeep Cherokee that registered to Young's mother, which Young used, was located in the parking lot. The car was impounded and sealed pending a search warrant. A search of the vehicle was performed on 05/16/08 and no items containing suspected blood or blood were located within the vehicle. Several co-workers reported Young telling them she recently left her husband, identified as Rodricke Shari (DOB: 10/26/70), due to numerous domestic violence incidents.
