Bentsen, Jr. is president of SIFMA, previously serving as executive vice president of public policy and advocacy for the group. Prior to joining SIFMA, Bentsen was president of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and before that was a managing director at Public Strategies, Inc. From 1995 to 2003, Bentsen served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas, sitting on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Budget Committee. Prior to his service in Congress, Bentsen was an investment banker at both a major Wall Street firm and a large regional firm, where he specialized in municipal and mortgage finance. BILL EMERSON CEO, Quicken Loans Inc. Bill Emerson has been chief executive officer of Quicken Loans, Inc., the nation’s largest online home loan lender and third largest retail mortgage lender, since 2002. Emerson joined the company in 1993 as a mortgage banker. Emerson is an active spokesman on the housing industry and has testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. For the 2014 membership year, Emerson will serve as the vice chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association. Emerson is also a member of the Financial Services Roundtable’s Housing Policy Council and is a member of the HPC’s executive council. JIM PARROTT Senior Fellow, Urban Institute Jim Parrott joined the Urban Institute as a senior fellow earlier this year and started Falling Creek Advisors, which provides financial institutions with strategic advice on housing finance issues. Previously, Parrott spent several years in the White House as a senior adviser at the National Economic Council. There he led the team of advisers charged with counseling the Cabinet and president on housing issues. Prior to his time with the NEC, Parrott was counsel to Secretary Shaun Donovan at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. DR. MICHAEL STEGMAN Counselor to the Treasury Secretary for Housing Finance Policy, Department of the Treasury Dr. Michael A. Stegman is counselor to the secretary of the Treasury for housing finance policy. Prior to joining Treasury, Stegman served as director of policy and housing for the Program on Human and Community Development at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, where he served as the foundation’s lead observer of domestic policy issues. Prior to joining the foundation, he was the MacRae Professor of Public Policy, Planning, and Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, chairman of the Department of Public Policy and founding director of the Center for Community Capitalism. JOHN TAYLOR President and CEO, National Community Reinvestment Coalition John Taylor is president and CEO of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. Taylor serves on the board of directors of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, the Leadership Conference for Civil Rights and the Association for Enterprise Opportunity. He is currently the chairman of the CRA Fund, a $750 million fund that invests in affordable housing. He has also served on several other national boards, including the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank Board, the Fannie Mae Housing Impact Division, the Freddie Mac Housing Advisory Board and many others.
